Description
Objectives
After this course, you will have a good general understanding of the Private Banking business, the products and services it offers, its players, issues and the regulatory environment in which it operates in Luxembourg, having analysed:
- What Private Banking is; the legal framework it falls under, its role within the bank and how the banks implement it
- The international background (analysis of reference studies)
- The Luxembourg financial marketplace, its market share, the geographic origin of both its clientele and the banks active in this business, the “star” products offered and the benefits it can enjoy
- The legal and regulatory framework in force in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg applicable to Private Banking dealing with the following in particular:
- Obligations to be adhered to with regard to money laundering
- Professional obligations to be adhered to vis-à-vis clients
- Due diligence with regard to tax compliance fiscal to be implemented
- Special precautions to be taken in respect of certain types of clientele (US persons…)
- The products and services offered (specifically investment advice, portfolio and wealth management, asset engineering, financial planning, family office, numbered accounts, Lombard loans, fiduciary contracts, family asset management company, special investment funds, foundations)
