This training program introduces key sustainability notions and their impact on companies’ activities preparing you to take on the role of Sustainability Leader within your organisation.
The sustainable transition process has transformed our economic, social and environmental models. Beyond the necessary adaptation, it also creates opportunities: reinventing your business model, stimulating innovation, strengthening organisational attractiveness and creating new sources of revenue.

Objectives
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Identify the major issues linked to the sustainable transition
- Assess the impacts of the ecological transition on their sector and organisation
- Navigate the regulatory framework of the sustainable transition (CSRD, Taxonomy, SFDR, etc.)
- Identify and use practical tools to initiate the sustainable transition within their organisation
Program
Day 1 – Governance and Sustainable Finance
- CSR and responsible governance: history, principles and key issues
- Governance best practices in Luxembourg and the role of governing bodies
- Introduction to the sustainable finance and reporting framework: CSRD, SFDR, Taxonomy, ISSB, VSME, etc.
- Role of labels and certifications
- Practical exercises: diagnosing governance and reporting issues within your organisation
Day 2 – Environmental Challenges and Circular Economy
- Introduction to planetary boundaries, climate change and impacts on businesses
- Overview of international, European and Luxembourg decarbonization objectives and framework (Paris Agreement, Green Deal, NECP)
- Key environmental impacts on companies’ activities related to decarbonisation, energy efficiency, sustainable water management, biodiversity and natural resource management
- Circular vs. linear economy: risks and opportunities for companies
- Introduction to sustainable innovation and eco-design
- Overview of European and Luxembourg objectives on circular economy
- Workshop: identifying environmental challenges and tailored solutions for your sector and the size of your organisation
Day 3 – Social Issues and the Value Chain
- Introduction to workplace well-being and the links to talent retention
- Overview of the regulatory framework on diversity, equality, inclusion and performance drivers
- Issues linked to health, safety and risk management.
- Introduction to the concepts of supply and value chain and associated regulatory challenges: CS3D, responsibilities, reputational risks and opportunities
- Introduction to stakeholder engagement and responsible procurement practices
- Interactive workshop: identifying issues related to the organisation’s own activities and value chain
Teaching methods
This program combines scientific and regulatory material, concrete case studies (Luxembourg, EU, service and industrial sectors) and practical workshops allowing participants to identify concrete action points to implement in their organisations.
